After being told for years that Social Security is "going broke," baby boomers are realizing that it will soon be their turn to collect. But the decisions you make now can have a tremendous impact on the total amount of benefits you stand to receive over your lifetime. Learn not only the basics but also little-known strategies for maximizing your benefits. This program will cover when it makes sense to delay benefits, how earnings affect your benefits, how benefits are taxed, how to integrate benefits with other retirement income sources, and how to coordinate benefits with your spouse. Attendees are entitled to receive a free Customized Social Security Analysis which illustrates different claiming strategies and related breakeven points based on their personal social security benefits.
Baby Boomers are asking, “Which type of retirement account is right for me? Can I still contribute, and how much? What do I need to know about withdrawals—when, how much and how are they taxed, and what happens to my IRA when I die?” In this workshop, you will learn important IRA rules for traditional and Roth IRA’s and Roth conversions; how direct and indirect rollovers work; and special considerations for spousal and inherited IRA’s. You will also learn three common IRA mistakes and how to avoid them; four strategies for smart IRA planning, recent rule changes based on the SECURE Act, and how to coordinate your IRA planning with your overall investment, retirement, estate planning, and Social Security retirement benefits. All attendees will receive the “Baby Boomers Guide to IRA Planning” which summarizes key IRA provisions.
Grandparents can have a major impact on their grandchildren. With the proper tools and guidance, you can help them build a solid financial foundation. And it’s not all about monetary gifts. In this workshop, you will learn how to impart key financial lessons to your grandchildren in a way that inspires them and makes a lasting impression. College costs are skyrocketing and you will learn creative ways for grandparents to help in addition to why, in many cases, it is a big mistake for grandparents to use the popular 529 College Savings plans. When it comes to legacy planning, grandchildren often get short changed. We often expect the children’s inheritance to filter down to the grandchildren, but divorce, death, lawsuits and poor financial decisions mean the grandchildren often end up with very little or nothing. This program highlights the best ways to avoid these pitfalls and protect the grandchildren.
